Founded in 1984 as a community benefit, Reggae on the River has grown into a globally recognized celebration of reggae music and culture while continuing to support local youth programs and community initiatives. Each year, the festival draws more than 5,000 attendees from across California and beyond, contributing to the local economy and showcasing Humboldt County as a premier destination for music, nature, and cultural tourism.
Headlining the 2026 festival is Grammy Award winning reggae legend Burning Spear, whose Saturday night closing performance will highlight the enduring global influence of reggae music.
This year’s lineup features a diverse mix of internationally acclaimed and emerging artists, including The Movement, Kabaka Pyramid, Don Carlos, Cham, Ding Dong with Ravers Clavers, Dezarie, Samory I, Perfect Giddimani, Jah9, Iba Mahr, Big Mountain, Devin the Dude, Blvk H3ro, Rik Jam, Subatomic Sound System, Mystic Marley, Prezident Brown, Junior Toots, Ka$e, Teflon Young King, Army, Mighty Mystic, SIMRIT featuring Purity Attack, Leaf of Life, Reggae Angels, Mystic Roots, Jah Bruce, Sol Horizon, Seed n Soil, Hella Mendocino, and Rising Signs.
Beyond music, Reggae on the River offers a full weekend experience with riverside camping, wellness and yoga programming, artisan vendors, local food offerings, immersive art installations, and family friendly activities. Attendees can choose from general camping, RV accommodations, and upgraded glamping options, as well as VIP add ons.
The event is designed to be inclusive and accessible, with free admission for children under 12 and special ticket rates available for teens and seniors, making it a welcoming experience for families and multi generational attendees.
Reggae on the River continues to serve as a key cultural and economic driver for Humboldt County, bringing visitors, supporting local businesses, and fostering community connection through music and shared experience.
