Curtis Legal Group is seeking a strategic, driven, and enthusiastic, Director of Operations to join our personal injury practice and serve as an operational leader
supporting the firm’s C-Suite, attorneys, and legal teams. This role is designed for an operations leader who thrives in translating firm strategy into scalable systems,
clear accountability, and consistent execution across legal teams. Curtis Legal Group values collaboration, integrity, clarity, and high standards. The Director of Operations plays a critical role in strengthening how legal work is supported, supervised, and delivered without practicing law or directing legal judgment.
The Director of Operations is a position tracking to the position of Chief Operations Officer (COO). This person is responsible for assisting stakeholders with firm-wide
oversight of legal support operations, case workflow execution, performance management, and cross-functional alignment between attorneys, operations,
finance, intake, and administration. This role focuses on optimizing legal delivery systems, improving consistency across offices and teams, and supporting attorney
effectiveness and capacity. Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to the C-Suite team of the Firm.
Authority & Scope
- Assists operations across all practice locations
- Establishes firm-wide legal operational standards, workflows, and KPIs
- Deploys artificial intelligence solutions
- Partners with legal leadership on execution while respecting attorney autonomy and ethical boundaries
- Reviews and provides analysis of firm operations, including budgets in order to develop efficiencies and to scale profitability
- Creates innovative solutions for firm operations and reviews data analytics, including use of AI support
- Serves as the C-Suite representative of the management team and oversees office work culture in the Sacramento office

Core Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
- Assists in oversight of the execution and consistency of legal workflows from intake handoff through case resolution
- Monitors KPIs including but not limited to firm’s AI usage, client service, attorney revenue, case progression, attorney and legal team caseload capacity, case resolution time and obstacles
- Collaborates with Managing Attorneys to align operational systems with legal strategy and client outcomes
- Develops and maintains standard operating procedures (SOPs) supporting legal teams
- Assists HR to recruit and develop existing and future team members
- People Leadership & Accountability
- Assists with development of legal operation supervisors, managers, case managers, and support leaders
- Demonstrates and advocates firm values in the role as a leader of team members
- Supports attorney performance through clarity of roles, expectations, and tools—not legal direction
- Drives, manages, and demonstrates a growth mindset in firm performance, training, mentorship, and professional development
- Cross-Functional & Strategic Support
- Acts as the primary operational liaison between legal teams and firm leadership
- Partners on firm planning, staffing models, budgeting inputs, and growth initiatives
- Creates and develops operational efficiencies and strategy for firm profitability
Qualifications
- Master's degree in business administration (MBA) /management or demonstrated operational leadership experience
- Exhibits and/or demonstrates skills required for success in leading
- operational teams
- Experience in professional services or legal services (personal injury preferred)
- Experience with artificial intelligence (AI) programs and systems
- Understanding of business budgets and accounting systems
- Proficient in Microsoft suite programs
- Experience with leading teams
Location & Compensation
Location: Sacramento, CA
Schedule: Full-time in person
Travel requirements: Travel to the Modesto office once per week
Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
